You can do it the old-fashioned way, calculating distances on a paper map with a mile scale and a ruler. But now there are free online tool radius tools that show you at a glance which destinations are within a certain distance.

The radius tool measures distances as the crow flies without taking highways or terrain into account, so it’s a good idea to check distances against an odometer on MapQuest or GoogleMaps.
